FAQs About KlezKamp

A Biselle KlezKamp

A Biselle Klezkamp is a a free one-day event full of Yiddish music, dance, and culture. Our next Madison-based A Biselle KlezKamp will be next summer on July 27, 2014 at Union South on the UW-Madison campus. We hope you’ll join us!

What classes are available?

We’ve got a great mix of classes and workshops on music, dance, song, visual arts, and language, along with age-appropriate children’s programming. Class descriptions and a full schedule are available here.

Can I come for just part of the program?

Yes, you can attend classes all day or on a drop-in basis. However, we encourage participants interested in musical performance to commit to the entire day in order to fully benefit from the workshops.

Can I come if I don’t speak Yiddish, don’t play an instrument, or‚ gevalt!‚ am not even Jewish?

Yes! There are plenty of offerings for all. The Mayrent Institute does not promote religious beliefs but, rather, exists to offer education about the rich history and practices of Yiddish culture.

Am I required to pre-register?

Pre-registration is not required, but it is deeply appreciated as it helps us plan the event. Register here and be entered into a raffle to win fabulous prizes!
